The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), headquartered in Egypt, has finalized contracts for one hundred forty-four projects between July 2023 and April 2024, amounting to investments totaling $3.2 billion. These projects, with sixty-seven securing final approvals and seventy-seven obtaining initial approvals, are anticipated to generate more than twenty-five thousand direct and indirect job opportunities upon completion. Additionally, forty projects are in the final stages of securing building licenses.

Notably, the zone has seen advancements in green hydrogen projects, with twelve framework agreements and six memorandums of understanding signed between January and April 2024, alongside plans for additional agreements in this sector.
